3. Reserve the structural pieces

• Flights and the first and final nights.
• Limited-capacity park entries through the responsible authority.
• Critical transfers, high-demand lodging, and your highest-priority guided wildlife experience.

4. Pack for microclimates

• Light rain layer, quick-dry clothing, closed-toe trail shoes, sun protection, and insect repellent.
• A warm layer for cloud forest and higher elevations.
• Dry bag or waterproof pouch, refillable water bottle, binoculars, and any essential medication.

5. Keep ethical wildlife standards

• Choose habitat-based viewing with a qualified local guide.
• Keep distance; never feed, touch, bait, or handle wildlife for a photo.
• Follow park and reserve rules and confirm current operating details.

6. Final 72-hour check

• Reconfirm opening hours, reservations, pickup instructions, route conditions, and the weather outlook.
• Download offline maps and save emergency, lodging, and rental contacts.
• Leave unscheduled space: Costa Rica is better when every hour is not committed.
